Quantity Surveyor – Drylining Contractor
Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire
Salary: Up to £70k plus benefits

Our client is a well-established drylining contractor with over 15 years of experience in the industry. Specialising in a wide range of sectors including commercial, residential, leisure, and healthcare, they consistently deliver high-quality projects valued between £50k and £12m. With a strong reputation for excellence, they are looking to expand their team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support their growing portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the cost aspects of a range of projects, including commercial, residential, leisure, and healthcare sectors.
  • Prepare and review detailed cost plans, bills of quantities, and contract documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate cost assessments and manage project budgets.
  • Provide cost control and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor and manage contract performance and ensure projects are completed within budget.
  • Assist with value engineering, cost forecasting, and risk management.
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure timely submission of applications for payments and valuations.
  • Advise on contractual disputes and assist with final accounts.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the drylining or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of drylining systems, materials, and construction processes.
  • Experience working with contract documents, cost plans, and project specifications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience managing projects ranging from £50k to £12m.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
