We are working on behalf of a highly regarded medium sized main contractor delivering a diverse range of major construction projects. With a healthy pipeline of work and a strong commercial team in place, they are seeking a capable Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Guernsey-based operation, either on a permanent or temporary basis.

The Opportunity:

This is a great opportunity to work for Guernsey’s leading main contractor who are led by a very affable Managing Director and have a friendly, close knit team.
You’ll be based in a central office, commuting just 10 minutes from the provided accommodation with all projects within a 30 minute drive.

You will have responsibility for one to two projects concurrently. Current projects include:

• A £12m Super Prime residence
• A £6m residential renovation
• A £4m wildlife hospital
• Two x office fit-outs
• Various general housing schemes

The business employs around 80 staff and delivers projects with in-house trades and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage procurement schedules and subcontract packages
• Deliver robust cost/value reporting and forecasting
• Liaise with clients and third parties on variations, claims and payments
• Ensure contract compliance and maximise commercial outcomes
• Support junior QSs and share best practice across teams
• Maintain strong relationships with site teams and ensure commercial processes are followed

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experience with a mid sized main contractor with exposure to residential and commercial projects
• D&B experience is strongly preferred
• Strong commercial acumen
• Capable of working independently and taking ownership of commercial responsibilities

Salary & Package:

• Permanent: £70,000–£90,000 + relocation allowance + flight arrangements + 6 months’ rent free accommodation (option to extend)
• Temporary: 6+ month contract with accommodation provided, competitive rates, and flight arrangements available
