Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Site Manager / Project Manager to lead the delivery of a £16m complex healthcare project. This is a Design & Build (D&B) scheme involving the construction of a state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment centre, including operating theatres, treatment rooms, and advanced imaging facilities. The project is challenging in terms of services, roofing, and cranage, requiring a proactive and dynamic professional to ensure its successful completion.

This is a permanent position, though we are open to considering candidates on a temp-to-perm basis. The role offers a competitive salary of £70,000–£75,000, with flexibility up to £85,000 for exceptional candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of a £16m healthcare project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee enabling works, fit-out, and the construction of an extension to an existing building.
  • Coordinate and manage M&E services, ensuring seamless integration with the overall project.
  • Supervise the construction of key facilities, including operating theatres, treatment rooms, imaging suites (MRI, CT, X-ray), and client-facing areas such as reception and pharmacy.
  • Drive the project team to meet tight deadlines, maintaining a high level of energy and focus.
  • Report directly to senior management, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with project specifications and health & safety standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with the client and stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are met and exceeded.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager or Project Manager, ideally within the healthcare or complex construction sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of D&B projects, including enabling works and fit-out phases.
  • Excellent understanding of M&E services and their integration into construction projects.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and drive teams.
  • A proactive and results-driven approach, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications are essential.

Day-to-Day

  • Start on-site at 7:00 AM to oversee daily operations and ensure smooth project progress.
  • Coordinate with the Assistant Site Manager and Technical Site Manager to address any challenges.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Liaise with the client and design team to resolve any queries or changes.
  • Manage the scheduling and delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Chair site meetings and provide clear direction to the project team.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to senior management.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary of £70,000–£75,000, with potential for up to £85,000 for exceptional candidates.
  • Opportunity to work on a high-profile healthcare project with a main contractor (c. £30m turnover).
  • Permanent position with long-term career prospects.
  • Collaborative and supportive working environment.
  • Standard working hours: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (Monday–Thursday), 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (Friday).

If you are a motivated and experienced professional with the drive to lead a complex and rewarding project, we encourage you to apply. Immediate availability is preferred, but we are willing to wait for the right candidate with a one-month notice period.
